Alex Valdez, the Executive Director, and Tony Silva, the Associate Executive Director established IŸ5 Social Services Corporation as a private nonprofit community-based organization in April 1997.  In 1998, the company opened its first licensed childcare center in the City of Mendota, a rural community in Fresno County.  Currently, IŸ5SSC continues to provide quality subsidized childcare funded by the California Department of Education (CDE)/Child Development Division (CDD).  Currently, IŸ5SSC is governed by a five-member Board of Directors.

The management team has extensive experience in childcare, education, housing, economic development and public service.  Mr. Valdez and Mr. Silva both held the office of mayor in their respective hometowns.  Management also maintains a valuable network of contacts and resources that ensures the Company provides cutting-edge environments for child development and that it maintains a favorable relationship with the state and local governments.

IŸ5SSC received exempt status from the IRS as a 501 (c) (3) organization in 1999.
